A Web Project for an International Furniture Fitting Company
About the client

Project overview
Andersen was approached by a family-owned international company manufacturing and distributing functional furniture fittings. Their chief product groups include lift, hinge, box, and runner systems for home furniture – particularly kitchens. The customer runs eight production facilities in Austria and several production facilities in the USA, Brazil, and Poland. On top of that, the company has 33 subsidiaries and representative offices; the total number of its employees is 8,000 people worldwide. In order to boost its sales, the customer needed a reliable IT partner to deliver a complex online item search capability.

Challenges
When working on this IT project, our team focused on developing an advanced item search capability and enhancing the friendliness of the customer's software UI. The overall was to strengthen the business in India and, subsequently, in Europe.
Solution
The IT project consisted of three dimensions. First, our expert team was entrusted with developing new features and adjusting Spryker functionalities. Second, we were requested to cover the already existing functionalities with unit tests. Third, we provided valuable expertise to improve the code base of the customer's solution.
App functionality
As a result, the app, functioning as a Spryker shop, allows end-users to conveniently and quickly search for:
- products as a whole;
- single items of any particular product.
Project results
As a result of our involvement, the customer has received not only the requested search functionality but also qualified assistance with various microservices, including SAP and data exchange Spryker and ERP systems. Among other things, the following goals were achieved:
- Improved online item search capability has increased the speed of searches by 90% and hence resulted in faster and more efficient product selection;
- Enhanced user interface and user experience have increased the client satisfaction rate by 60%;
- Development of new features and adjustments to Spryker functionalities has made the online solution more comprehensive and versatile;
- Enhanced search functionality and improved user experience attract more clients to the company's products and services, which has ensured a stronger business presence in India and Europe.
