Challenges

Throughout the collaboration, Andersen was tasked with supporting a broad range of projects that varied in scale, complexity, and maturity. Some systems were built from scratch using modern technologies, while others involved working with legacy solutions that lacked documentation and required reverse engineering.

One of the key challenges was ensuring consistency and performance across different platforms and environments, ranging from mobile and web applications to back-end services and internal tools. The team needed to integrate components developed by different teams, often under evolving requirements and limited visibility into older systems.

Handling large volumes of media content, supporting high-load file transfers, and maintaining system stability under heavy use were also core concerns. Several solutions demanded seamless coordination between front-end and back-end development, scalable cloud infrastructure, and efficient data handling processes.

Additionally, the team worked on implementing AI-driven features, managing complex workflows, and improving automation across various internal operations. Balancing modernization efforts with the need to maintain ongoing business continuity was a consistent focus throughout the project.

Solution

To address the customer's business and technical needs, Andersen implemented a range of services and technologies that support system modernization, media processing, and internal efficiency:

  • Media Asset Management System (MAM/MSC). A centralized platform for storing, tagging, classifying, and bundling media files such as videos, images, and promotional content. It supports efficient media cataloging and preparation for distribution;
  • Employee Portal. A secure platform that enables internal users to upload and download large volumes of media files (TV shows, subtitles, dictionaries, etc.), improving accessibility and streamlining file transfers;
  • Rights Management and Royalties Tool (RMR). A system for managing licensing rights, obligations, and royalty payments related to media distribution. It tracks media usage and automates calculations for revenue sharing with partners;
  • AI-Powered Video Analysis Tools. Microservice-based modules for implementing speech-to-text transcription and face recognition capabilities. These services are designed to scale with growing datasets and support automated metadata generation and labeling;
  • Cloud-Based Video Transcoding Platform (CLENC). Migration of transcoding workflows to the cloud, ensuring high-performance processing, stability under load, and the flexibility to handle large-format video files across distributed systems;
  • Cross-Platform Mobile App (Plan-it). Developed using Angular and Capacitor, this app delivers desktop-like scheduling and content features on iOS devices. It syncs large data sets, ensuring consistency across platforms;
  • Custom Upload Portal. Designed to handle high-volume uploads with bulk media support, progress tracking, back-end validation, and error handling, all while optimizing performance and user experience;
  • Labeling Tool. A dedicated platform for annotating and validating video content for AI training. It supports both manual and semi-automated labeling processes to streamline video analysis efforts;
  • Cultural Multimedia Platform (Linden Museum). A presentation layer for showcasing digital content in a museum or educational context, supporting multimedia storytelling and integration with back-end systems;
  • Streaming Portal. Reimagined, modern streaming platform, prioritizing user experience, personalization, and cross-broadcaster integration to make the customer's content more accessible, engaging, and tailored than ever before.

Project results

As a result of Andersen’s involvement, the customer now benefits from a more modern, stable, and scalable digital ecosystem. Key internal processes have been streamlined, legacy systems upgraded, and new tools introduced to support daily operations and long-term growth. The collaboration enabled faster media handling, improved workflow efficiency, and laid the foundation for continued innovation.
