About the client
Andersen was approached by one of the world's leading providers of telecommunication services. T-Systems, a strategic division of Deutsche Telekom, implements and manages information and communication technologies through a global infrastructure of data centers and networks. Its solutions are used in a wide range of industries, ranging from automotive and telecommunications to finance, retail, services, media, energy, engineering, as well as public institutions and healthcare.

About the project
For this IT project, our mission was to develop a solution to manage the lifecycle of applications, i.e. ALM (application lifecycle management), for a German automobile company. The requested solution was intended to support the development of software for controlling car engines.
The ALM implementation process encompassed the following areas: requirements management, software architecture, development, testing, maintenance, change management, continuous integration, and project management.
The integrated Codebeamer ALM platform from Intland Software was used for the implementation.
Challenges
Andersen was selected for this initiative thanks to our two core strengths. First, our solid track record in modernizing legacy software and migrating it to modern technologies—an essential aspect of this project. Second, our deep expertise in the automotive domain ensured that we could deliver a solution aligned with the latest industry trends.
Solution
First, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the customer’s existing architecture and APIs and proposed a new concept for their workflows. Based on this, we delivered a cloud-based platform capable of enabling centralized and rapid software updates via microservices.
The main benefits of the solution include improved operational speed, extended functionality, and simplified ECU software updates.
Project results
As expected, the new cloud platform, built on a microservice architecture, enabled centralized and rapid software updates, which in turn:
